One day, in a small village, there lived a farmer named Ramu. Ramu was hardworking and supported his family through farming. However, for the past few years, due to less rainfall, his crops hadn’t been good. In the same village, there was a moneylender named Lala. Lala had lent some money to Ramu so he could buy seeds and fertilizer for his fields. Ramu had thought he would repay the money once he had a good harvest, but with the crops failing, he couldn’t do so.Lala told Ramu that if he didn’t repay the money, he would take him to court. Ramu got scared because he didn’t have the money. He asked Lala for some more time, but Lala refused. Finally, Lala filed a case against Ramu in court. In court, it was stated that Ramu had borrowed money and promised to repay it on time, but he hadn’t kept his word.Ramu presented his side in court. He explained that his crops had failed due to the lack of rain, and he couldn’t repay the money because of his situation. He also said he was willing to work hard and pay back the amount slowly. The court listened to both sides. Lala had papers with Ramu’s signature, proving that he had taken the loan. On the other hand, Ramu had no proof to show that he was in a helpless situation. The judge thought deeply about the matter. He saw that Ramu was a poor farmer and his condition was genuinely bad. But it was also true that Lala had a right to his money. In the end, the judge decided that Ramu must repay the money, but he would be given six months to do so. Additionally, Lala was asked to reduce the interest so that Ramu wouldn’t be burdened too much.Ramu felt relieved that he didn’t have to go to jail immediately and got a chance to work hard. Lala, too, had hope of getting his money back. The court’s decision worked out well for both. The villagers were also happy that the matter was resolved. Over the next six months, Ramu worked hard and earned some money by selling small crops. He began repaying Lala little by little. In this way, a simple issue that reached the court was settled through mutual understanding and effort.
